3.9 Exposure visit to areas of successful eco-tourism sites of Sikkim for Ri-Bhoi and East Khasi Hills FDAs


Exposure visit to the areas of successful eco-tourism sites of Sikkim was organized on 10-15 March, 2010. The objective was to make the participants aware of the concepts of eco-tourism through the exposure visit and the interaction with the people which will help in adopting eco-tourism concept to initiate steps in their respective areas. Thirty participants attended the exposure visit which comprised of Range Officers, Foresters, Field Functionaries of Ri Bhoi and East Khasi Hills FDAs. The sites visited by the participants were: Rumtek which is run by the Samiti, Jhakari Fall, Ranka managed by the village Samiti, Tsango Lake managed by Pokhari Sanrakshan Samiti, 14th Mile Nathula Road and Gangtok Peak.
